Our story topic is finding your personal style. It is relative with being confident and that is our main subject along with fashion and individuality. We improved a lot of things in our video from rough cut to almost final. One of the things was the music and voice over levels. We adjusted them to be more consistent and better flowing. We also added more male roles to balance it out.
The DMCA penalizes people for copyright infringement. This is regulated on the internet. "Copyright infringement is the use of works protected by copyright law without permission, infringing certain exclusive rights granted to the copyright holder, such as the right to reproduce, distribute, display or perform the protected work, or to make derivative works." You can get permission to use copyrighted media. This is done by contacting the owner and negotiating. This is where you will determine if payment is required. If everything works out you will then get your permission agreement in writing. If you are to use "Fair Use" you won't need permission. Fair use is used "for a limited and “transformative” purpose, such as to comment upon, criticize, or parody a copyrighted work."
It is important to get permission to film on location because if you shoot on any private property without permission you could get sued. If it is in public and you look like you have a production you could get fined or arrested. You also must get release forms. Media companies and TV networks get a video release form signed so they will not be sued by someone who appears in a video. For our critique results the average was 3.5. Much better than our practice story buy a whole point. In our video we could've made smoother audio transitions and turned the music down more. Overall our team did pretty well.
